This March sees the 2008 edition of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, sponsored by Magners, and it seems to be fast becoming a well respected and very popular Comedy Festival. Each year sees a whole host of performers coming from around the world to grace the stages of a whole manner of different venues around the city.
This year’s names have just been announced and my personal highlight has to be Dwight Slade’s performance at Òran Mór in Glasgow’s West End on Friday 7 March at 8pm. For those that don’t know him, you may have heard with his school friend and one-time comedy partner – Bill Hicks. I saw Slade perform (Dwight that is, not the 70s Glam Rock band!) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe about 18 months ago and it was a really funny show. Well, I’ve just booked my tickets and now it’s your turn.
You can book them by visiting the SECC Box Online Office. The link takes you to the list of shows that you can book but if you go to page 4, you’ll find where to order the tickets for Dwight Slade.
Why mention his show here? Simple – more people should hear what he has to say and hear his view of the world. He’s also one of life’s good guys.
See you there?
